Who You Are In A Changing World- by Ingrid Nazar
/How to find out who you are in a changing world? This is the question that many, many seekers are asking themselves in our world today. Well no two snowflakes are alike would be my response to that. You see these phrases have always been here to guide us and yet so few seem to listen as they buy the same clothes, drive the same cars and walk the same well worn paths to their jobs day after day and year after year until…well then it’s over and after a life lived in that way they appear no further along to answering that song that calls to them. The song, which asks…who am I?
It differs not who you are it seems as there is always another present to make that claim for you. Someone or something that has told you since you were quite young who and what you were to be. The personal work of these times I believe is to begin to make that differentiation for ones self. So herein lies the paradox…we are all one and yet we are also a sliver of the whole that in its uniqueness amasses a beauty that stands alone and also mirrors the totality of all of creation. Hmm that’s pretty cool don’t you think?
In nature we can see a myriad of complexity and if one really takes the time to witness in silent steadfast appreciation the enormity of that complexity one would be astounded by the sheer multitude of its differentiation. No two snowflakes alike. So the question one must then ask themselves is why strive to be like another? Is this truly your true nature? The one you follow on social media? Is that you? Do you wish to be, sound, look like him or her? Ask yourself whom do I wish to emulate? What do I wish to emulate? And in making that wish you must realize that in doing so, what in fact, indeed you are saying, is that you wish to be other than what you are…who you are. This is a sad statement of denying yourself….rejecting yourself. On the other hand if you dare to be different, if you dare to be unique and reveal the rare and beautiful bird that you are then you are embracing, loving and admiring the intricate truth of the aspect of your soul, one that is like no other. Your note, not identical to any other but a rare and unique version that sings your own personal song, strong and clear so that everyone else might hear and sing along.
